Experienced Leadership. Genuine Service.
Voices Heard. Hands to Serve

Welcome

…and thank you for visiting my campaign website.

I'm Stephanie Moon Reynolds, and I'm honored you've taken the time to learn more about my campaign for Roanoke City Council.

Roanoke has been my home for my entire life. It is where I was raised, where I built a career of nearly five decades in public service, where my family has grown, and where I have been blessed to serve neighbors, businesses, and community organizations that make this city so special.

Throughout my life, I have learned that leadership begins with listening. The best ideas come from people working together, respecting one another, and remaining committed to finding practical solutions that strengthen our neighborhoods, grow our economy, and improve the quality of life for everyone who calls Roanoke home.

This campaign is not about titles or politics. It is about people. It is about preserving what makes Roanoke special while preparing our city for the opportunities ahead. I believe we can do that by investing in our neighborhoods, supporting economic growth, practicing responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and working together with transparency, integrity, and respect.

I invite you to explore my website, learn more about my background and priorities, and join me as we continue building a stronger Roanoke.

Thank you for your time, your support, and your belief in our community.

A Lifetime of Public Service.

Stephanie Moon Reynolds dedicated 42 years of service to the City of Roanoke, building a career grounded in integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to serving others. Beginning her career in the City Clerk's Office and later serving as Roanoke's first African American City Clerk, she worked alongside City Councils, mayors, city managers, constitutional officers, and community leaders to help ensure open, effective, and accountable government.

Throughout her career, Stephanie gained firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing local government. She learned the importance of listening, building relationships, solving problems, and earning the public's trust—qualities that continue to guide her leadership today.

Following her retirement in 2019, Stephanie's commitment to service did not end. She remains actively involved in the community through volunteer service, nonprofit leadership, and work within Roanoke City Public Schools.

Her lifetime of public service reflects a simple belief: government works best when it listens to its citizens, acts with transparency and accountability, and remains focused on improving the quality of life for all residents.

Community Leadership

Stephanie's commitment to serving others began long before she entered public office. Inspired by the kindness, encouragement, and support she received as a young person, she developed a lifelong passion for giving back to the community that helped shape her.

Throughout the years, Stephanie has dedicated countless hours to volunteer service and community leadership. Her involvement has included coaching youth basketball with the Williamson Road Recreation Club, advocating for individuals experiencing homelessness, serving as PTSA President at William Fleming High School, mentoring students pursuing educational and career opportunities, and supporting the work of numerous civic, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations.

Stephanie believes that strong communities are built through service, collaboration, and people who are willing to invest in one another. Whether working with youth, supporting families, serving on nonprofit boards, or volunteering in the community, she has remained committed to improving the quality of life for Roanoke residents.

For Stephanie, community service is not a position or title—it is a responsibility and a way of life.

Family, Faith & Values

Stephanie Moon Reynolds is the daughter of the late Stevenson Moon and the late Piccola Ann Gilliam. She is the second oldest of five siblings: Cynthia Moon, Cheryl (Marcy) Jones, Stevenson "Bossman" Moon, Jr., and Vincent Moon.

Stephanie and her husband, Earl Reynolds, Jr., are blessed with a loving and blended family of four adult children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Family has always been the foundation of Stephanie's life and continues to inspire her commitment to serving others.

Stephanie and Earl are active members of Shiloh Baptist Church in Salem, Virginia, where their faith continues to guide their lives and their commitment to community service. Their English Bulldog, Stella Mae, is also a much-loved member of the family.

"I believe good government begins by listening. Every resident deserves to be heard, treated with respect, and represented with integrity.

Throughout my career in public service, I have learned that lasting solutions are achieved when people come together, listen to one another, and work toward common goals. I believe in building consensus, strengthening partnerships, and making thoughtful decisions that reflect the best interests of our entire community.

As your City Council representative, I will lead with experience, integrity, and a commitment to open, responsive government. Together, we can build a stronger Roanoke—one where every voice is heard and every neighborhood has the opportunity to thrive.”
